Auch

27.9 km from the campsite you will find Auch, known as one of the most beautiful old towns in the Midi-Pyrénées region. Here you can wander the old, medieval streets for hours and find many shops and cosy restaurants. Also be sure to visit the Escalier monumental. These are ancient stairs with 234 steps. From the top, you can marvel at stunning views over the Gers valley. On clear days, you can see the Pyrenees on the horizon. At the foot of the steps, you will also find a bronze statue of d'Artagnan, one of the king's famous musketeers.

Condom

24.3 km from the campsite is Condom, on the banks of the river Baïse. Condom is an official stop along the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. The route between Condom and Lectoure is on the Unesco World Heritage List and you can enjoy walking or cycling there. Be sure to take a look at the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Condom. This beautiful church was built in the 16th century and you can find a beautiful artwork of the Three Musketeers. Condom is full of historic buildings and picturesque cottages. The Musée de l'Armagnac is also worth a visit. At this museum, you can learn all about the strong drink Armagnac produced in the region.

Larressingle

29.8 km from the campsite is Larressingle, one of the smallest towns with city rights with just 300 inhabitants. Larressingle is surrounded by a canal and is completely walled in. The town played an important role in the Hundred Years' War. It was one of the few towns not to be conquered by the English. A visit to the city takes you back to the Middle Ages and you can wander around between old half-timbered houses and high city walls. It is one of the most beautiful fortified towns in France and therefore definitely worth a visit.

La Romieu

La Romieu is 26.2 km from the campsite. The town is surrounded by green hills and you will find all kinds of beautiful houses and medieval buildings. The highlight of La Romieu is the Église Collégiale Saint-Pierre. There you can find the octagonal Tour du Cardinal. You can climb this tower and get a great view of the surrounding area. You should also spend a few hours walking through the town centre. After all, you can find countless statues of cats here. A legend goes that street cats saved the inhabitants of La Romieu from a famine by chasing the rats out of the village.

Lavardens

9.3 km from the campsite is the Château de Lavardens. The castle was built in the 17th century on the site of a former fortress. The castle was strategically built on a hill, so you have a beautiful view of the surrounding green fields. The castle is open to the public and it is possible to take a guided tour. You can see the various rooms and admire the colourful mosaic floors. In addition, art exhibitions are regularly organised in the castle. Next to the castle is a restaurant where you can enjoy lunch. On foot, Lavardens is only 5.1 km from the campsite so that's a nice walk.

Toulouse

Toulouse is 95.4 km from the campsite. Toulouse is known for its rich history, which is still reflected in various buildings and monuments in the city. Toulouse is a real student city and is therefore full of hip eateries, cosy bars and nice cafés. Relax in one of the city's beautiful gardens or stroll through the shopping streets and the various markets. Besides, you can definitely eat well here too! The city has plenty of tapas bars, French bistros and Michelin-starred restaurants.
