Blog 46: "Superlatives fall short"

Wow, wow, wow! That best describes our feeling at the moment. When you are in the midst of renovating the campsite, it is sometimes hard to see what you have already achieved. Our super sweet guests do make us aware of that.

Without exception, every guest so far has been super enthusiastic about the campsite. The lovely words and even nicer reviews are hugely emotive for us. It is so great to find that our vision matches what people are looking for.

Apart from meeting many lovely guests over the past weeks, we also organised a nice BBQ evening for our guests, neighbours and anyone who wanted to join us. We had arranged live music in the form of our backdoor neighbour who came to liven up the evening with his guitar and French songs.

It was super exciting and a trial run for us to see if the two of us could handle a BBQ for 60 people. Well, it turns out we could and everyone had a fantastic evening. It was great hard work, but what a thrill it was!

We also enjoy all the trees and plants on the campsite immensely. It is so much fun to discover all that is growing and blooming. For instance, we can pick cherries in abundance at the moment.

We enjoyed very nice weather but at the moment it is very wet here, but even then the dogs need to be walked. In all weathers, Hein goes out with the dogs.

Last week, Dirk and Christine arrived. They are from Belgium and approached us to make our campsite even more fun with great scavenger hunts and hiking and biking tours. A real gift since we don't have time for that ourselves at the moment. And quite honestly, we certainly couldn't do it as well as they do.
