Well life as a campsite owner suits us very well. The days are long but so far it doesn't feel like work. We do understand that it will probably feel like that eventually, so we are still looking for ways to get our rest in between.
My day starts in the morning at 6am with waking up the children who go to school by bus at 7am. Then I drive on to the bakery and on my return I clean the toilet block. We haven't had any people having lunch with us in recent weeks but that possibility is there. After lunch, I then go back to cleaning the toilet blocks. Then it's time for dinner again and after dinner the whole kitchen has to be cleaned. The days then end around 11pm for me.
Long days, and so important to get some rest when possible. I find that very difficult at the moment because we are not finished yet. The second toilet block still needs to be finished and we have decided to put PVC flooring in the safari tents because it runs nicer and is easier to clean.
Right now, we are particularly enjoying all the positive feedback we receive about the campsite, both from guests and from local French people who also know how to find us for a bite to eat and a drink. So far, everyone who has been there says they will definitely come back.
So far, we haven't had a moment when the campsite was empty. Many people arrive spontaneously, currently 6 pitches are occupied. The restaurant is also well attended and well received. Apparently there are not many campsites where the restaurant is open yet so this is a pleasant surprise for most.
Oh by the way, all the electrics at the campsite, apart from some minor dings, are approved!!!
Now I am going to close the blog again because I have to go into the kitchen.
